Aruba is the most western of the Netherlands Leeward
islands and situated between 12 degrees, 30 North latitude and 70
degrees West longitude. The total length of the island is 19.6 miles and
the widest cross section is scarily 6 miles. The total area is 70 square
miles.
Visitors to Aruba do need a proof of
identity, Residents of the U.S.A. and Canada may submit either; proof of
citizenship, a birth certificate, affidavit, a certificate of
naturalization, a re-entry permit, a valid non-quota immigration visa, a
U.S.A. voters registration card, an Alien registration card (Green Card)
or a valid passport. All other nationalities must have a return or
through ticket outside Aruba.

Most major credit cards are accepted.
Average temperatures, the year round 76
to 84 degrees. The trade winds bring natural air-conditioning throughout
the year.
The currency of Aruba is the Florin. The
official rate which the bank accepts U.S. dollar banknotes is fl. 1,77;
cheques at fl. 1,78. Travelers checks are accepted everywhere. The
Aruban florin is divided into 100 cents and there are coins of 5 cents,
10 cents, 25 cents, the square 50 cent the florin and the five florin
coin. Banknotes are issued in denominations of 10, 25, 50, 100 florins.
US Dollars are excepted everywhere, and you can obtain them from the
ATM's as well.
Tropical diseases are practically absent
on this island. Malaria and Yellow fever are unknown.
Aruba's time Atlantic Standard, the same
as Eastern Daylight Saving Time.
Modern medical and dental facilities are
available.
The majority of the population is Roman
Catholic. There are also Protestants, followers of several creeds,
Israelites, hindoes, Mohammedans and followers of Confucius.

Oranjestad
and an auxiliary post office in
San Nicolas.
Cables are taken care by the Government Radio service. The folks back
home will love to hear from you. They're near enough. As near as the
telephone. Aruba has excellent telephone and cable connections with any
part of the world.
The native language is Papiamento, a
mixture of Spanish, English, Portuguese, Dutch, Indian and a sprinkling
of African words. The official language is Dutch, the trade language are
most English and Spanish.
Distilled in the worlds second largest
desalination plant. Aruba's water is pure and most refreshing.
